Hit Streak Now at 20 for Lane Friday, April 24th, 1970 Nick Lane's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Macon HS. The 16-year-old left fielder extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 2-for-3 performance against the Jackson HS Waves. The Blue Huskies took the game, 7-3. "People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful." Nick Lane walked in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season Lane is batting .422 with 21 RBIs, 28 runs scored and 4 home runs. |
