Hit Streak Over, Waves Stop Lane Sunday, April 26th, 1970 Nick Lane's 21-game hitting streak was snapped today at Las Vegas HS Grounds. The 16-year-old Macon HS Blue Huskies left fielder failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats in the game against the Jackson HS Waves, but Macon HS came out the winner, 12-7. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Nick," Blue Huskies manager said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." Thus far this year Lane is hitting .409 with 5 home runs, 23 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
