Hitting Streak Still Alive for Hansen Wednesday, April 29th, 1970 Nick Hansen ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Oaks Ballpark, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Fairfield HS Peacocks dropped the game, 5-4, to the Rialto HS Oaks. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Hansen said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Nick Hansen singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. This year Hansen is hitting .354 with 4 home runs and 27 RBIs in 25 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .455 with 19 walks and 21 runs scored. |
