Peters Stretches Hit String to 25
Sunday, May 3rd, 1970
The streak is alive and well -- at least for today.
Jared Peters did it again, bashing 2 hits in the contest at Pittsburgh HS Grounds today. For the last 25 games in a row, the 15-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Visalia HS Rays beat the Temecula HS Greyhounds 8-3 today.
"I'm happy I kept the streak going," Peters told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Visalia HS clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Jared Peters grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
For the year Peters is hitting .358 with 3 home runs. His stats include 28 runs batted in and 22 runs scored.
