Shaw on Fire, 5-for-5 Against South Gate HS Monday, May 4th, 1970 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Brian Shaw today. Shaw went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off South Gate HS pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Rock Fish Ballpark, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Burbank (Los Angeles County) HS Dust Devils had a 8-7 victory over the Rock Fish. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Brian Shaw singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and doubled in the 10th. In the 1970 season Shaw is hitting .400 with no home runs.
