Lucas Sizzles -- Smokes Devil Bears for 5 Hits Tuesday, May 5th, 1970 Newport Beach HS second baseman Bill Lucas had a day to remember today, 5-for-5 against the Alameda HS Devil Bears at Ballpark of Wichita HS as the Heroes picked up a 15-4 victory. "He was patient up there today," Newport Beach HS skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Lucas has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Bill Lucas doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
