Jensen Goes 5-for-5 Thursday, May 7th, 1970 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Chris Jensen today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Columbus HS and paced the Devils to a 24-4 win over the West Covina HS Blue Ox. After his dynamite batting performance, the Costa Mesa HS right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Chris Jensen singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 5th and walked in the 7th. This season in 32 games Jensen is batting .382 with 5 home runs, 36 RBIs and has scored 41 times. View Boxscore |
