Condors Chill Frye's Hot Streak Monday, May 11th, 1970 It was a doubly miserable day today for Jake Frye of the Fairfield HS Peacocks, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose 19-10 to the Renton HS Condors at Condors Ballpark. The 15-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Condors. "Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Renton HS manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." So far this season Frye is batting .354 with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 147 at-bats, 25 walks and a .457 OBP. Frye has played in 36 games. |
