Rosemead HS Stops Schronce's Hit Streak
Tuesday, May 12th, 1970
The Rosemead HS Pugs got more than the 9-7 victory at Ports Ballpark today -- they also put an end to the 21-game hitting streak of Downey HS Ports right fielder Tim Schronce by holding him without a hit in 5 at-bats.

After the game, Schronce seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.

"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."

In 1970 Schronce has hit at a .342 clip with 55 hits, 1 home run, 17 RBIs and has scored 24 times.
