Jones Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Wednesday, May 13th, 1970 Adam Jones of the Vallejo HS Goats tagged 3 hits in today's 20-13 loss to the Everett HS Undertakers at Tulsa HS Grounds to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Adam Jones grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Thomas Brown in the 8th. So far this season Jones has gotten 56 hits in 151 at-bats for a .371 batting average with 6 home runs. His stats include 42 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has played in 38 games. |
