Respondek Goes 5-for-5 Against Ventura HS Saturday, April 4th, 1970 Who needs batting practice? Apparently not Bellevue HS Bucks third baseman Chris Respondek, who missed the team's pre-game session at Virginia Beach HS Grounds but peppered the Ventura HS Annihilators for 5 hits come game time. The Bucks went on to take the 6-5 win. "I was late to the park and I wasn't sure coach was even going to keep me in the lineup," he told the press after the game. "Maybe I should skip BP more often."
