Hits Galore: Malone Drills 5 Hits Saturday, April 4th, 1970 It was a sensational day at the plate for Josh Malone as he led the charge to a 19-14 win over the Condors. The West Covina HS first baseman was pure misery for the Renton HS pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Malone put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Condors, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Josh Malone singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th. View Boxscore |
