Loggerheads Pitching Ravaged by Pych Wednesday, April 8th, 1970 Jay Pych exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Minneapolis HS. The Manteca HS first baseman had a field day against the Richmond HS Loggerheads, finishing with a 6-for-8 day, even as his club took the loss, 20-19. "It's a shame that we lost the game," he said later. "It's really hard to enjoy what I did today. You would think 6 hits would do it." Jay Pych singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th, singled in the 9th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and grounded out in the 11th.
