20-Game Hitting Streak for Brown Monday, April 27th, 1970 Tom Brown's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Champaign HS catcher smacked 2 hits against the Peoria HS Players in today's game at Field of the Railroaders, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Alpines drop the game, 12-8. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Tom Brown singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, walked in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. So far this year Brown is batting .495 with 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 30 runs scored. |
