Schullo on Fire: 5-for-6 for Southfield HS
Thursday, April 30th, 1970
It seemed that Southfield HS first baseman Troy Schullo could do no wrong as the Visigoths KO'd the Princes, 16-6 today. Schullo rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Princes hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Visigoths were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Green Bay HS fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Schullo in the postgame press interview.
Troy Schullo singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, walked in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
This year Schullo has batted at a .436 pace with 41 hits, 2 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 28 times.
