Conference 1 Announces April's Best Batter Friday, May 1st, 1970 Joey McEndree of the Champaign HS Alpines spoke softly and carried a big stick in April and was justifiably proclaimed the Conference 1 Batter of the Month. The Alpines right fielder rapped out a .459 batting average with 45 hits in 98 at-bats, drove in 33, scored 43 runs and chalked up a .604 on-base percentage. |
