5-for-6 Day for MacFarland Friday, May 1st, 1970 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ryan MacFarland today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Hound Dogs Stadium and paced the Potros to a 13-7 win over the Racine HS Marksmen. After his dynamite batting performance, the La Crosse HS third baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Ryan MacFarland singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Aaron Caves in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. MacFarland is presently hitting at a .370 pace with 3 home runs, 31 RBIs and has scored 26 times. View Boxscore |
