25-Game Hitting Streak for Brown Sunday, May 3rd, 1970 Tom Brown continued his streak at Field of the Railroaders today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Champaign HS catcher was 2-for-5 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 25 games. The Alpines were not as fortunate, losing 11-5 to the Canton HS Red Dogs. "Brown was hitting everything we threw at him," said Canton HS manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Tom Brown singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. So far this season Brown has put up a .492 batting average with 59 hits, 2 home runs and 24 RBIs. |
