Purple Aces Chill Jackson's Hot Streak Monday, May 4th, 1970 The Bloomington HS Emperors lost to the Macomb Township HS Purple Aces 14-8 today at Field of the Tarpons, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Daniel Jackson's 24-game hitting streak. The center fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Jackson, we would win the game," Purple Aces manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." So far this season Jackson is hitting .416 with 8 home runs. |
