Hackman Keeps Hit Streak Alive Tuesday, May 5th, 1970 Abe Hackman ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Swarm Ballpark, when he collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Independence HS Savages dropped the game, 4-1, to the Moline HS Suns. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Hackman said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Abe Hackman grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This year Hackman is hitting .356 with 2 home runs. |
