Hackman's 22-Game Hit Streak Ends Saturday, May 9th, 1970 After 22 games, Independence HS right fielder Abe Hackman saw his hitting streak end when he went hitless in 5 at-bats. However, the Savages still managed to take the win, topping the Canton HS Red Dogs 8-6 at Field of the Silver Saints. "It was a good run," Hackman said after the game. "It was bound to end at some point. I'm just glad we won the day it ended." So far this season Hackman has gotten 39 hits in 114 at-bats for a .342 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 27 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 28 games. |
