Streak Finally Over, Corwin Held Hitless
Monday, May 11th, 1970
The hitting streak that Cicero HS left fielder Wally Corwin had kept going for 23 games was ended today by the Taylor HS Sky Chiefs. Corwin was stymied over 3 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 6-3 victory at Yard Dawgs Ballpark.

"Hitting streaks come and go," Corwin said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."

Corwin is presently hitting at a .395 pace with 5 home runs and 34 RBIs. He has played in 36 games and scored 44 times.
