5 Hits for Potros Shimek Monday, May 11th, 1970 Nate Shimek really did a number on the Burnsville HS Armada -- and the Burnsville HS did one right back on Shimek's Potros, taking the Fresno HS Grounds contest 15-10. Shimek delivered a huge 5-for-6 performance for La Crosse HS, but did not deliver the victory. "I felt real good in the batter's box today," the 19-year-old shortstop said after putting up a game for the ages. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Nate Shimek grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Danny Maly in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
