Great Stroke: McCrickard Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, May 12th, 1970
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Waterford Township HS's 14-4 win over Lee's Summit HS today, right fielder Aaron McCrickard was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Goats Ballpark.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," McCrickard said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Aaron McCrickard hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
For the season, McCrickard is hitting at a .356 clip with 3 home runs, 36 RBIs and has scored 39 runs. He has 47 hits, 41 walks and a .514 on-base percentage.
