Burn Reimers Smacks 5 Hits Thursday, May 14th, 1970 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Brad Reimers, it came around today. The 15-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Las Vegas HS Grounds to pace the Flint HS Burn to a 28-4 victory over the Bolingbrook HS Power. Bolingbrook HS skipper told reporters in the press room that "Reimers deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Reimers hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Brad Reimers singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Alden Beach in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Josh Maliniak in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Reimers is batting .404 with 10 home runs. His totals include 45 RBIs and 50 runs scored. View Boxscore |
