Sarno is Best In SL1 Tuesday, May 26th, 1970 The top vote-getter in this year's Conference 1 Most Valuable Player Award balloting was Joe Sarno, the outstanding St. Joseph HS second baseman. He finished the season with a .442 batting average, 69 hits, 7 home runs, 45 RBIs, .585 OBP and 54 runs scored. John Stennett of the Dearborn HS Gangsters finished second in voting, while Nick Skipper of the Flint HS Burn finished third. |
