Dobbins Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Thursday, April 2nd, 1970 It was a parade of hits for Ron Dobbins of the Davenport HS Destroyers at Henderson HS Grounds today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Dobbins finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Destroyers to a 13-4 victory. "Dobbins was really good and we were really bad," groaned Gangsters manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Ron Dobbins singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off John Lyle in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
