Schoenfeld Torches Golden Knights for 5 Hits Saturday, April 11th, 1970 Novi HS third baseman Jon Schoenfeld had a big day at Brawlers Ballpark today against the Waukegan HS Golden Knights. The 17-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Reign to a 24-7 triumph over Waukegan HS. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Schoenfeld said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Jon Schoenfeld walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 9th.
