Bad Boy Brawlers Suspended 8 Games Monday, April 13th, 1970 The league commissioner has issued 8-game suspensions to Omar Ruiz of Troy HS and Ricky Vazquez of Evanston HS. The two players were involved in a confrontation during a recent Lightning-Surf game at Red Rockets Ballpark and now will miss time because of it. Neither player would comment on the suspensions. Looking at his season stats, Ruiz has compiled a .370 batting average and a .540 on-base percentage, while hitting no home runs and driving in 9 runs. |
