Great Stroke: Smith Gets 5 Hits
Wednesday, April 15th, 1970
It was a sensational day at the plate for Tony Smith as he led the charge to a 24-10 win over the Princes. The Elgin HS second baseman was pure misery for the Green Bay HS pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Smith put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Princes, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Tony Smith hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Christian Pond in the 8th.

In his 1970 season totals, Smith has 2 home runs, .393 BA, .528 OBP, 18 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
