5-for-6 Day for Carrillo Monday, April 20th, 1970 Lorain HS shortstop Jose Carrillo had a big day at Sacramento HS Grounds today against the Elgin HS Black Aces. The 16-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Mud Sharks to a 10-5 triumph over Elgin HS. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Carrillo said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Jose Carrillo hit an RBI double in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Abraham Bonilla in the 9th.
