It's Over: Crows Stop Waters Saturday, April 25th, 1970 Lady Luck was not on the side of Jake Waters or his teammates today at Ballpark of Austin HS. Everything went the way of the Hammond HS Crows, who not only came away with the 17-6 victory over Lee's Summit HS, but also held Waters hitless in 2 at-bats to put an end to his 20-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Waters said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." This year Waters is batting .398 with 35 hits, no home runs, 16 RBIs, 11 walks, .465 OBP and has scored 24 runs. |
