Pierce's Strong Week Earns SL1 Trophy Monday, April 27th, 1970 A hot-hitting week got Logan Pierce the Conference 1 Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Wyoming HS left fielder slammed them for a .789 average, 15 hits in 19 at-bats, 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 7 runs. In the postgame press conference, Pierce shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that." Thus far this season in 22 games Pierce is batting .515 with 1 home run, 23 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 52 hits in 101 at-bats. |
