Great Day for Dingler -- 5 Hits
Saturday, April 8th, 1972
It seemed that Oklahoma left fielder Jake Dingler could do no wrong as the Sooners KO'd the Sun Devils, 6-5 today. Dingler rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Sun Devils hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Sooners were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Arizona State fan after the game.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Dingler in the postgame press interview.

Jake Dingler flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Billy Malecki in the 7th, singled in the 9th, walked in the 11th and doubled in the 13th.

So far this year in 58 games Dingler is hitting .317 with 5 home runs, 34 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
