 | 20 Games in a Row for Grove Tuesday, February 8th, 1972 Ben Grove continued his streak at Bee Racers Ballpark today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Alabama center fielder was 3-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Crimson Tide were not as fortunate, losing 15-12 to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. "Grove was hitting everything we threw at him," said Georgia Tech manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Ben Grove singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far in 1972 Grove is hitting .426 with no home runs, 12 RBIs, 14 runs scored and has compiled a .500 OBP. |   |
