| Wolf Sizzles -- Smokes Aggies for 5 Hits Thursday, February 10th, 1972 It was a good day for the Red Raiders at Leafs Ballpark as they clipped the Texas A&M Aggies, 10-6. It was tremendous day for Billy Wolf, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-5.
"I don't know what to call that," the Texas Tech third baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Billy Wolf singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This year Wolf is hitting at a .306 pace with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. He has played in 13 games and scored 4 times.
