 | Cavaliers End Bonner's Streak Saturday, February 12th, 1972 It was a doubly miserable day today for Chris Bonner of the Georgia Bulldogs, as he saw his 32-game hitting streak end and his team lose 7-5 to the Virginia Cavaliers at San Diego College Grounds. The 23-year-old shortstop was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Cavaliers. "Anyone on a 32-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Virginia manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Currently Bonner has 3 home runs and a .350 batting average. |   |
