Bruins Stop Logsdon at 35
Monday, February 21st, 1972
For once, it was the Oklahoma Sooners picking up the slack for David Logsdon.

The club's "offensive catalyst," as Oklahoma manager has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent today and saw his 35-game hitting streak snapped by the UCLA Bruins. Logsdon was bailed out by the rest of the Sooners, however, who stopped the Bruins, 4-2.

The 21-year-old third baseman finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."

"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."

Logsdon is presently batting .441 with 1 home run, 20 runs scored and 15 RBIs. His OBP is .487.
