| Wilson Gives Washington Goose Eggs Thursday, February 24th, 1972 Cory Wilson of the Virginia Tech Hokies spun his magic on the Washington Huskies today. He blanked them 7-0 on 5 hits, registering 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Wilson said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Virginia Tech skipper said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Cory pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
In 6 starts this season Wilson has chalked up a 3-1 record and a 3.43 ERA.
