| Sullivan 5-for-6 Against California Thursday, March 2nd, 1972 Chris Sullivan was at the head of a Oregon hit parade today at Mean Machine Ballpark. The catcher went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Ducks to a 12-0 victory over the California Golden Bears.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Sullivan told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Golden Bears skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Chris Sullivan hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Sullivan is batting .388 with 40 hits, 4 home runs, 22 RBIs, .496 OBP and has scored 22 runs.
