 | Cyclones Jamal Green Down and Out for Year Friday, March 10th, 1972 The doctors have spoken and Jamal Green of the Iowa State Cyclones didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Green sustained his season-ending injury during the Southern California Trojans game yesterday at Corpus Christi College Fields. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Iowa State medical staff reported Green had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 13 months. So far this year Green has compiled a 5-1 record with a 4.61 ERA. |   |
