League 1 Selects Best Performer
Monday, March 13th, 1972
It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the League 1, but last week Matt Stancliff of the Florida State Seminoles reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Stancliff rocked opposing pitching for a .615 average (16-for-26), 1 home run and 8 RBIs to come away with the award.

This season Stancliff is batting .318 with 54 hits, 5 home runs, 31 RBIs, 29 walks, .428 OBP and has scored 41 runs. He has played in 41 games.
