20-Game Hitting Streak for Hardesty

Tennessee lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks 5-3 at Chimpanzees Ballpark today, but Gabe Hardesty kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Volunteers center fielder has now delivered hits in 20 straight games.

"Gabe has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Tennessee manager told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had."
Gabe Hardesty flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Steve Baron in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.

This season Hardesty has delivered 26 hits in 80 at-bats for a .325 average with 2 home runs. He is getting on base at a .402 clip and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored. This year Hardesty has played in 20 games.
