Pearson Dominates Seminoles in Shutout

In a remarkable performance, Florida Gators starter Milt Pearson beat the Florida State Seminoles 10-0 in an impressive 5-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Gators hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Florida State manager said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

So far this season, Pearson has a 4-6 won-lost record with no saves. He has made no relief appearances, logged 72.2 innings and fanned 49 batters while fashioning a 7.18 ERA and allowing the opposition a .312 batting average.
