| 5-Hit Barrage by Savino Saturday, February 3rd, 1973 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Mitchell Savino of the Georgia Bulldogs had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate today in the 16-7 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores at Atlantics Ballpark.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Mitchell Savino hit a solo-shot off Mark Novak in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mark Novak in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mark Novak in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Andy Coody in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
