 | Mize Nabs South Division Weekly Award Monday, February 12th, 1973 So far in his young career, Andrew Mize has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the South Division in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 21-year-old Alabama Crimson Tide shortstop hit at a torrid .438 clip as he collected 7 hits in 16 at-bats, 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
