 | Manning Takes Charge, Blanks Mississippi State Sunday, February 25th, 1973 Steve Manning of the Mississippi Rebels humiliated the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Ballpark of Wichita College today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 6 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Mississippi State manager , after the game. Manning whiffed 3 and walked 2 in the 4-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Manning said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
