| Erickson Tosses No-No Against Demon Deacons Sunday, March 26th, 1972 In a dominant outing, Bill Erickson of the Arkansas Razorbacks totally silenced the bats of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Razorbacks' 2-0 victory, Erickson faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 3 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Arkansas manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Razorbacks had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Erickson pitched a heck of a ballgame."
So far this season Erickson has a record of 2-8 with 33 strikeouts and 57 walks in 59 innings and a 8.08 ERA.
