UCLA's Berumen Will Miss Season
Sunday, March 26th, 1972
When Rafael Berumen was hurt against the Iowa State Cyclones, the UCLA Bruins were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 22-year-old starting pitcher suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Berumen would miss 10 months of the season.

On his stats sheet this season Berumen shows a 6-4 record, 12 starts, 69.2 innings, 59 strikeouts and a 5.30 ERA.
