| South Division Trophy Goes to Vogt of Alabama Monday, March 5th, 1973 So far in his young career, Reed Vogt has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the South Division in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 21-year-old Alabama Crimson Tide center fielder hit at a torrid .435 clip as he collected 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
This season Vogt is swinging the bat at a .289 rate with 43 hits in 149 at-bats. To date he has hit 8 home runs, scored 38 runs and driven in 30. | |
